European and international partnering

UK Trade Investment (UKTI)

UKTI is the body supporting UK businesses in overseas trade and attracting inward investment. The KTN works closely with the UKTI, but in the technology space and not overseas trade.

UKTI’s Sector specialists and Global Value Chain specialists can help the UK SMEs access both Global Markets and Global Medtech players.

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)

The Enterprise Europe Network helps small business to make the most of the European marketplace.

In particular, the Healthcare Sector Group seeks to enhance cooperation between potential partners in the medical technologies sector. It also encourages greater exploitation of research and technologies by medical companies in Europe. The Healthcare Sector Group's services are as follow:

  • Bringing together providers and recipients of healthcare technology and know-how.
  • Providing companies with advice and support, ranging from negotiating about commercialising and exploiting technologies and products to helping obtain finance for innovation.
  • Helping companies find European partners for the joint development of new medical products and services.
  • Raising awareness and informing companies about relevant EU regulations and directives and their transposition into national law.

Fit for Health (former ‘SMEs Go Health’)

The success of the former ‘SMEs go Health’ programme in its support of SMEs and researchers prompted the follow-up initiative entitled Fit for Health which started in October 2010.

This is an online partnering Platform for SMEs and others looking to get involved in FP7 Health projects. There is a vetting of entries onto the online database of organisations and it holds current call topics to make searching more targeted.
